( # 1 ) Q: "How do I know if your
photos will be any good?":
That's why we bring sample photos from AMA races and previous CLASS events to each school. I don't guarantee that I can make you look like a "pro racer", but If an image of you at CLASS is not sharp or well-composed I will not sell it - period...

|
( # 2 ) Q: "Does EVERYTHING go onto
the website?":
NO - We do not use space for every image taken, sometimes there are 1000 images or more and many are similar. I try to choose the best versions available - while still giving you alternates to choose from.
|
|
( # 3 ) Q: "How long do the images
stay on the website?
Minimum of 30 days - but after that, we may archive them offline.
|
|
( # 4 ) Q: "Why can't you photograph
me in Turn "X"? :
There are a lot of factors that affect which turns I shoot from - the direction of sunlight at different times of the day, the ease of access etc. Sometimes I am restricted in my shooting positions for the safety of us both - and some tracks are much more restrictive than others in this regard.

|
( # 5 ) Q: "Why don't you have a picture
of me dragging my knee ?" :
I can't be everywhere at once - and I may indeed have missed your better efforts during the day, but please remember, it is tough to make you look like "Kenny Roberts" if you were riding your bike like a Grandmother on allergy medication ...
|
|
( # 6 ) Q: "Why don't you have more
pictures of me ?" :
Depending on the Track, there may be 60 or more participants per event and I try to ensure that everyone is photographed at least once, but life isn't fair - some will have more than others. If you are interested in buying a photo, the best plan is to introduce yourself at the start of the CLASS and make sure I know your bike/leathers/helmet combo and I will try to pay particular attention to you during the day.
|
|
( # 7 ) Q: "Instead of all those "galleries" - WHY can't you just separate each rider's images? ..."
The short answer is "TIME" - but in addition, none of the suggestions we have received on how to organize the images cover every possibility. Riders often change back and forth between groups, change bikes, change helmets, change leathers - you get the picture ...

( # 8 ) Q: "How do I buy photos - can I do it on the web?" :
If you want to pay with a Credit or Debit Card we have set up a secure online shopping cart . Click the "Add to Cart" button(s) for the items you require - then click the "View Shopping Cart" button. Once you have made sure that your order is complete you can go ahead and enter your card info to complete the process.
If you already have a PayPal account, include your order details in the "memo/note" section of the PayPal order form. On PayPal, your payment should be made to "iandonald@iandonald.com".
If you have managed to remain firmly stuck in the "Analog" world, and would prefer to pay by check, select images you like by noting the ref. # under each image on the webpages. Calculate the total for the images you are interested in by using the price list and then send a list of the images with your check to: Ian Donald Photography, 2732 G Street, Antioch, Ca. 94509. Please make sure you include a phone # so that we can contact you if we have questions or suggestions about your order.
If your order involves something not specifically listed in our online shopping cart - or you feel uncomfortable using the shopping cart or PayPal system - we can also take your Credit Card Information - onsite at the event, or over the phone if we are back at the office - and process your order through our Credit Card Terminal manually.
I am happy to take telephone calls if you have any questions about the process, or the individual images you may be interested in, but I prefer not to take telephone ORDERS - it is too easy for verbal information to be misinterpreted and cause problems for us both. Please send an e-mail or letter whenever possible so that we have a hard copy of your requirements.

( #9 ) Q: "But what if I don't HAVE a computer? ":
Great question, but other than using the one at the Public Library or asking the 6 year-old next door if you can use theirs, I am not sure what the best alternative would be. Whether we like it or not - this is the 21st. Century folks - we need to get used to it...

And last
(but not least)...

( # 10 ) Q: "Why does it cost that much for a print - the "other guy" does it for less?"
As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for! " I am a full-time Professional Photographer - I don't do this in my spare time and sell cheap inkjet prints out of a trailer. The CLASS Schools are a just a small part of my business and the only "Trackdays" I am able to fit into my busy schedule. I really enjoy my time at the track with the CLASS Team and Students - but I need to make some semblance of a profit , or my expertise and equipment would be better employed elsewhere. My "cost of doing business" is getting increasingly higher - I cover ALL of Reg's Schools across the USA, and when I am on the road, my gas, air fare, car rental and hotel expenses are significant. For your CLASS photos I use Professional Photographic printers that cost up to $5,000, Laptops that cost $3,000, Professional Digital Cameras that cost up to $7,000 each and Telephoto lenses that cost up to $8,000 ...
Now you do the math ...
